Kemptville Campus hosting open house

The Kemptville Campus is celebrating 100 Years of Education. An open house is set for Saturday, from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Opening ceremonies will take place at 11:30am in front of Purvis Hall.

Tom Graham, Campus Communications, says people will get the chance to explore the campus. He noted that most of the buildings will be open to the public, including Gibson, Fraser, Purvis, Parish, Rorke, Bell, Administration and Heritage Hall (former cafeteria).

The open house includes a free barbecue, anniversary cake, historical displays, artifacts and live re-enactments by former college staff.

Graham says everyone is welcome. He noted that the community has an interest in what’s been happening at the campus since the municipality bought it last year.

The event coincides with the 100th Grenville County Plowing Match. Free shuttle services to the A.M. Barr Arena will run every 15 minutes.
