Prescott’s Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign raises over $9,000

Tim Hortons in Prescott brought in $9,500 after the week long Smile Cookie campaign.

Last year’s amount raised was $7,000. Owner Shawn Lockett says the community made it another successful fundraiser.

“My staff was unbelievable making these cookies. It was a lot of work and they all did it with big smiles on, they were super excited with how much money we raised which helps, it made it fun. And our community bought them!”

All of the money will be going to the South Grenville Food Bank. Executive Director Bonnie Pidgeon Cougler thanks Tim Hortons, Lockett and his entire staff. She says this money will come in handy with Christmas coming. They want to make sure they have enough food for that and into January as it can be a tough month for a lot of the clients.

Lockett says Friday was the biggest day for cookie sales with almost 2,000 sold in that day alone.
