The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation (OSSTF) is holding a rally. The Students’ Mental Health Matters Rally is set for Wednesday. It starts at 5:00pm outside the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) office in Brockville.
The OSSTF says the UCDSB continues to dismiss concerns from primary stakeholders, including students and parents, when it comes to mental health support.
The board cut 24 Student Support Partners during the 2019-2020 budget process.
The OSSTF says the front-line workers provide assistance to students struggling with anxiety, depression, various disorders, and behaviour issues.
