Prescott area native signs with LA Kings

The Los Angeles Kings signed Ben Hutton. The Prescott area native agreed to a one-year deal, worth $1.5 million, according to nhl.com. The announcement was made yesterday.  

The 26-year-old Hutton got his start in South Grenville minor hockey. He was drafted by the Kemptville 73’s in 2008 and moved on to the Nepean Raiders in 2011. 

Hutton’s NHL career began in 2015, when he was picked up by the Vancouver Canucks. He played for Team Canada in the 2016 World Championships.   

The defenseman appeared in 69 games last season.
