Local event brings in over $2,000 worth of food and cash for food bank

The Fill the Cruiser event in Prescott brought in more money and food for the South Grenville Food Bank.

The event was held at O’Reilly’s Independent with Coast FM and the Grenville County OPP. A total of $2,686 was brought in with $651 in cash and 370 pounds of food donated. This will all go to local people with the food banks located in Prescott, Cardinal and Spencerville.

According to the food bank 5.6-percent of the population in South Grenville are served by the South Grenville Food Bank, with 40-percent of that number being children under 16.

Coast FM will be holding a radiothon on December sixth for the food bank again.
