A free cycling event is happening this weekend in Brockville.
The Brock Trail Slow Ride is taking place on Saturday. Chair of the Brockville Cycling Advisory Committee Doug George says they organized the slow ride to encourage families and people of all ages to get out and ride bikes and also to introduce them to the Brock Trail.
The ride will begin at the fire hall at 360 Laurier Boulevard at 9:30 that morning. George says right now the trail runs from Centennial Road right downtown. He says the ride will go up to Centennial then down to Parkedale Avenue then back to the fire hall. There will be a firetruck display setup at the fire hall for kids to explore.
This is the second year for the event and George says they will be handing out some gift certificates from Cowan’s Dairy and Dairy Queen to the kids.
Participants will bring their bikes and helmets and the event will run until approximately 11:30 that morning.
