Over $1,500 brought in for Prescott arena

A local event this past weekend brought in more money for the new Prescott arena.

The Barn at the Boneyard, just outside of Cardinal, hosted the event on Saturday afternoon. Organizer Kate Martelle says once they get the last donation in, the total will come to just above $1,500 raised from the event. Martelle says people were very generous with donations and a silent auction and 50/50 draw helped add to the total.

One of the attendee’s Charlotte Evans says the event was full of music. First, locals Dallis Cambpell and her father Tim performed, then Big John “T-Bone” Little played music and there was also a special performance by Mayor Brett Todd, according to Evans. Nicky’s Place from Cardinal provided food and The Liquor Hutch was also at the event.

Martelle says she felt it was an important event to organize because the arena is near and dear to everyone’s heart in this area. She also says the venue is newer and they want people to get excited about having community events and fundraisers there. The venue is located at 2085 Wynands Road.
