Local man charged after OPP investigate multiple thefts in Prescott

A Prescott man is facing multiple charges after the OPP investigate multiple thefts this summer.

Grenville County officers say they have been investigating a crime spree of thefts from vehicles and break-and-enters in and around the Prescott area. Police say video surveillance was obtained when one of the culprits tried to pay at a local store with a stolen credit card. On Sunday, the culprit re-attended a local store and officers were called, the male attempted to flee but he was arrested by the officers, according to OPP.

Police say there were numerous items connecting him to multiple crime scenes throughout Prescott and surrounding areas.   The 32-year-old is facing charges that include:

Two counts of trespassing by night, eight counts of theft under $5000 from motor vehicle, two counts of theft under $5000, six counts of possession of property obtained by crime, three counts of fraud under $5000, four counts of break, enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence, theft of credit card, use of credit card, mischief under $5000, carrying concealed weapon, possession break in instruments and resist peace officer.
