Province OKs Brockville transit improvements

MPP Steve Clark was in Brockville yesterday to make a funding announcement. The province has nominated the city for $787,686 in funding to replace 5 buses. Federal approval is still pending.

Clark says enhancing local transit services by investing in a new fleet of city buses will give more people in Brockville the ability to choose public transit to get to work, go shopping or attend important appointments.

The city’s new buses will include automated stop announcements.

Mayor Jason Baker says if this funding application is approved by the feds, municipal dollars can go towards improving transit for riders instead of keeping the rolling stock on the road. He noted it gives Brockville the opportunity to transit more user-friendly.
