Minister Cho visits riding, hears from local seniors

Kemptville & District Home Support welcomed a special guest yesterday. The Hon. Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors & Accessibility, stopped by to have lunch with local seniors and host a roundtable discussion with stakeholders.

He was joined by MPP Steve Clark. Minister Cho is currently touring the province to gather feedback for the Seniors Strategy, which will be announced in the fall.

This is Minister Cho’s first time visiting Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes. He noted the community is very welcoming.

Transportation in rural areas and elder abuse were two of the topics brought up during the roundtable.

Minister Cho says the visit was very informative and he took away a lot of valuable comments. He noted he could sense how much people care about seniors in the community.

The goal of the Seniors Strategy is to help seniors age at home in their communities and remain healthy, active and socially engaged.
