Kemptville Live announces special guest on Saturday

The 5th annual Kemptville Live Music Festival kicks off tomorrow. Gates open at 6:30pm for the Wednesday Warm Up, featuring Silver Creek and Brea Lawrenson.

Organizer Karen Bedard says it’s free to the public, but donations to the Salvation Army Food Bank will be accepted, including canned food items, hygiene products and cash.

Kim Mitchell and David Wilcox take the stage Thursday night, followed by Steve Earle and The Dukes on Friday. George Thorogood & The Destroyers perform Saturday night and April Wine closes out the festival on Sunday afternoon. Tickets are between 80 and 85% sold out.

Bedard says there’s a surprise in store on Saturday. She noted a special guest is going to take the stage at 4:00pm. Bedard says if you’re going to the festival, don’t miss the 4:00 to 5:00pm slot. She wouldn’t provide any further details, but did note “it will make you laugh.”

Signs are already up around town showing people where to park to catch a shuttle during the festival.  Over 25,000 people are expected to attend Kemptville Live this year. For the full line-up or to purchase tickets, click here
