Prescott’s Legion Branch 97 will be holding a yard sale with proceeds staying at the Legion.
The yard sale will be happening on Saturday August third from eight in the morning to three in the afternoon. Chair of the Ways and Means Committee Veronica Burchell says they are accepting donations for the yard sale and can also pick up donations.
“Any fundraiser that we run, the money stays in the legion. It helps to pay the general expenses of the Legion to keep the doors open for our veterans so they still have a club to come to.”
Burchell says anything like used household items will be accepted. Burchell says they did a yard sale last year and it was a great success. She adds they now have a new Ways and Means Committee for fundraising. Burchell says depending on the response, the yard sale may also run on Sunday August fourth.
The Legion is located at 141 Henry Street. Anyone who would like to donate can call Burchell at 613-803-8351.
