Summer beach party in support of new Prescott arena happening this month

Local group The Row will be holding a beach party to raise money for the new arena in Prescott.

The party will be held at the Leo Boivin Community Centre on July 27th from eight that evening to one in the morning. It’s an 18-plus event with DJ CrazEjays and Healy & Orr performing with a sand dance floor at the event too.

Row member Justin Kirkby says 100-percent of the proceeds from this event will be going towards the new arena.

“That’s our arena, right. The Row has always been a part of the Leo Boivin Community Centre. We’ve expanded in the years past but I mean that’s our home rink.”

Kirkby says their goal as The Row is to raise $50,000 for the rink with $11,500 already raised from their New Year’s Eve party. He adds they are always looking for volunteers for their events. Kirkby says right now they are still looking for a couple people to volunteer for the beach party with smart serve, volunteers for security and people to help work the door, set up and clean up.

Kirkby thanks Kriska, Ken Miller Excavating, Prescott Family Chiropractic and the Town of Prescott for their help.

Tickets can be purchased at Prescott Family Chiropractic, Your Family Dollar in Prescott or through The Row’s Facebook page here. Tickets cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
