Youth in Leeds and Grenville can access free programs. Connect Youth finalized its summer schedule.
Programming runs from Tuesday to Friday, starting with activities at Stingers every Tuesday afternoon. Program Manager Victoria Robertson says Connect Youth will be at the Prescott Pool every Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00pm. She noted programs are open to youth between the ages of 12 and 25, at no cost. Transportation is also available.
Different outings, mainly in Brockville, are planned for Thursdays. Fridays are theme days, with a focus on small acts of kindness.
Robertson says youth will go around the community, doing nice things for people, including writing positive messages on sidewalks with chalk. She noted this idea came directly from the youth, who wanted to feel more connected to their community.
