Environment Canada issued a heat warning for the area. A hot and humid airmass will remain in place through to Friday. Maximum daytime temperatures near 31 degrees are expected with humidex values near 40.
Overnight minimum temperatures are forecast to remain near 20 degrees providing little relief from the heat.Â
A cold front Friday night will bring cooler temperatures and lower humidity for the weekend.
Extreme heat affects everyone, but the risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
