King’s Lock Craft Distillery recognized as Local Food Champ

Agribusiness in Eastern Ontario was the focus of a roundtable discussion. The event was held at the farm of Dawn and John Wynands on Saturday. Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Ernie Hardeman, along with MPP Steve Clark, took part in the discussion.

Hardeman says the province is committed to reducing red tape and easing regulatory burden for farmers – both in Eastern Ontario and right across the province – so they can be more profitable and create jobs.

Farmers and agribusiness representatives gathered to talk about the challenges and opportunities facing the agriculture sector.

Two of the four Ontario Local Food Champions from Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes were recognized during the roundtable.
