Canada Day activities at Fort Wellington

The Fort Wellington National Historic Site in Prescott will be celebrating Canada Day with activities all day long.

Attendees can enjoy free admission to the fort on Monday. Visitor Services Team Leader Caitlyn Quade says there will be a variety of special events throughout the day.

The day begins at 10 in the morning when the fort opens. From 11 to two there will be activities for the entire family, including face painting, historic games, crafts and refreshments. At 12 noon, the traditional cannon firing will happen and then at two in the afternoon, the children’s muster and mock battle on the fort field.

Quade says there will also be a scavenger hunt going throughout the entire day. Quade adds anyone, primarily kids, can follow the clues, seek items out and a prize will be in the visitor centre for anyone who completes the scavenger hunt.
