Teddy Bear Festival to benefit MS Society

The MS Society of Leeds-Grenville is getting ready for its inaugural Teddy Bear Festival. The event is set for July 1 at Hardy Park in Brockville.

Organizer Kelly McElrea says the day kicks off with a fundraising breakfast at 8:00am. She says it’s the best deal in town and will include pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, juice and coffee. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for kids, with all proceeds going to the MS Society.

The festival runs from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

McElrea says there will be something for everyone. She noted there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to get things rolling, followed by a bike decorating contest. Canadian Tire in Brockville donated two brand new bikes as prizes for the contest.

The festival also features performances by the Brockville Theatre Guild, a High Tea Gala, demonstrations by the Brockville Infantry Company, Teddy Bear Adoptions and Teddy Bear Hospital.

The Score is the title sponsor for the event and donated all the stuffies for the event.
