UCDSB honours staff, volunteers

The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) recognized members of its staff and volunteers. The board’s annual Celebration Night was held Monday at North Grenville District High School.

Director of Education Stephen Sliwa says the board is pleased to honour all the people who truly go above and beyond each day for students.

“Whether volunteering, providing professional excellence or showing an extreme sense of caring for our staff and students, these people are helping to advance the learning of our students and exemplifying the UCDSB mission, vision and values,” noted Sliwa.

A total of 13 people received Volunteer Recognition Awards, including Amanda Fitzgerald (Centennial 67’ Public School). The Ontario Principals’ Council Award of Character went to Kim Melvin-Long, of Linklater Public School. Four individuals and one team won Service Excellence Awards, including Educational Assistant Michelle Brown (Wellington Elementary School). Merit Awards went to 18 people.
