Local School Walking to Raise Awareness and Funds for Clean Water

St. Mark students in Prescott will be walking for clean water.

The school is part of WE Schools International and will be holding a WE Walk for Water on June 10th. Teacher, and one of the leads of the WE team, Sue Scott says at around 2:40 in the afternoon, the whole school will go down to the St. Lawrence River and the members of the WE team will carry back containers of water.

“We’ve discussed throughout the year that clean water is the fastest way to help a community break the cycle of poverty and there’s so many people in the world that don’t have that access.”

Scott says students at the school can purchase freezies and they will be accepting donations at the front office with proceeds going to those who don’t have access to clean water.
