Local rescue holding adoption event, short on kitten food

The Spencerville TNR Stray Cats Project is asking the community for help. The local rescue is in need of kitten food.

Founder Cindy Cere says this is the time of year feral cats are having their kittens outside. She explained that people threaten to drown them or kill them for whatever reason. Cere says some other rescues won’t take in feral moms.

The rescue is having an adoption event on June 2 at Pet Valu in Kemptville. Cats available for adoption will be on site from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The cats range in age from 3 months to 6 years.

Cere says the rescue has over 80 cats right now. She says several are kittens that are not ready to be adopted, but still need care.

She noted the rescue is looking for a home for two 10-year-old sisters, known as the Golden Girls, who need a quiet home without kids or other pets.

Food donations can be dropped off at Pet Valu. For more information or to donate, contact Cere directly by emailing [email protected].
