BGH redevelopment hits halfway point

The Brockville General Hospital (BGH) redevelopment project is halfway done. Dignitaries were on site Friday to celebrate the start of phase two.

The five-storey, 175,000 square foot addition will see the transfer of services from the Garden Street site to a single campus on Charles Street. The redevelopment means 22 new beds for the hospital.

Programs offered in the tower will include Inpatient Mental Health, Complex Continuing Care, Palliative Care and Rehabilitation & Restorative Care.

The new tower is expected to be opened for patient care in spring 2020.
