Habitat for Humanity ReStore needs volunteers

Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands is looking for people to help out at its ReStores in Kemptville and Brockville. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available.

ReStore Manager Vicki Simzer says there is definitely a need for cashiers. She says volunteers work up front, running the cash and ringing through purchases.

People are also needed in the backroom, processing donations and bringing items onto the floor. Volunteers can pick what days they want to come in and shifts are generally four hours.

Simzer says all of the profits from the ReStore go to building homes for local families. She says Habitat built two homes in Lansdowne last year and this year the organization is building two more in Prescott.

The ReStores are open Monday to Saturday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Both locations need between 20 and 30 volunteers every week.
