If you’re a resident in Edwardsburgh/Cardinal you can take home free trees this weekend.

The Township of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal has teamed up with South Nation Conservation to giveaway free trees on Saturday. Community Development Coordinator Wendy Van Keulen says the township has ordered 200 silver maple and 200 white spruce seedlings. They will also have some potted trees and shrubs up for grabs as well.

Van Keulen adds this giveaway is for Edwardsburgh/Cardinal residents but the South Nation Conservation Authority has partnered with all 16 municipalities in their jurisdiction to offer trees to residents.

The free trees will be at the Spencerville Fire Station at 6055 County Road 44 from nine to noon that morning.
