Flying Canoe Hard Cider considers setting up shop in Spencerville

Spencerville could become the new home of Flying Canoe Hard Cider. Owner Pete Rainville and his family are moving to the area this summer. He plans on looking at options to relocate the business as well.

The cider company is currently located in Ottawa and its products can be found in 45 LCBOs. Smyth’s Orchard in Iroquois provides all the apples for Flying Canoe.

Rainville says the company needs more space to grow. He says before looking at expansion options in Ottawa, he’d rather take the business to Spencerville and see if it’s a possibility.

Rainville founded Flying Canoe in 2016 after making his own cider for over two decades.

He says if people come out to support the company, they will also be supporting other businesses in Spencerville and maybe new businesses will open up. Rainville says Flying Canoe is all about family and supporting local, which fits with the community.
