The May Court Club of Brockville donated $2,400 to Connect Youth. The cheque presentation was held Friday. The money will be used for food programs and youth activities.
Program Manager Victoria Robertson says Connect Youth runs a lunch program daily at South Grenville District High School and offers a hot lunch once a week. She says these dollars will give the program a boost and make it possible to add healthier options and more meat.
Robertson says the food programs benefit around 50 local youth who drop in regularly. She says food was accessed 148 times last month.
The May Court Club donated a total of $25,226 to local organizations, including Leeds and Grenville Interval House. The club raises money primarily through the May Court Thrift Shop in Brockville and has contributed $1.3 million to the community since 1959.
