The Town of Prescott could see an increase of 2.95-percent to property taxes.
Town staff says 1.95-percent will be for operational budget and the other one-percent will be dedicated to infrastructure reserve.
CAO/Treasurer Matthew Armstrong says the proposed tax increase factors in the raising property assessment values.
Armstrong says the extra money will go towards multiple things across the board like hydro, telephone, supplies and staff as inflation increases every year. The town will also make a contribution to the EORN project, according to Armstrong.
Armstrong says the town will discuss the operational and capital projects on April 15th. He adds they will be able to have a better understanding of what the total budget will look like at that meeting.
