The Prescott Kidz Choir has reached their goal of $3,000 for local initiatives.
The group performed Hairspray over the weekend. It was a free show accepting donations for the new Prescott arena, a new play structure for St. Lawrence Academy and the elevator fund at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. The money will be split equally between the projects.
Director Lynda Joanisse says it’s a wonderful surprise but at the same time it’s what’s happened every year where they’ve met a goal they’ve set. Joanisse says 750 people attended the three shows all together and over 30 performers were in the show. Joanisse adds people from all over including Merrickville, Spencerville and Kemptville came to watch and participate in the show.
Joanisse thanks the cast and crew and also everyone who helped either financially or in their time and efforts.
