Leeds County cop takes an icy plunge for Special Olympics

A Leeds County OPP officer has taken the plunge – and raised a thousand dollars – for the Special Olympics. Sgt. George Farrow did his unique backflip into the frigid waters at Confederation Basin Marina for the 5th Annual Kingston Polar Plunge last week.

Farrow was the fifth highest individual fundraiser for the event, which is hosted by The Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run, the Kingston Police Service and the OPP. Sgt. Farrow said the water was just 2 degrees Celsius – a harsh reminder that it’s not quite summer yet. But he took the plunge anyway, in uniform, as a testament to his dedication to Special Olympics.
