An event is being held at the Prescott Legion next month to raise money and awareness for bladder cancer.
It will include a canteen, bake sale and 50/50 draw. It is set for March 16, from 9:ooam to 3:00pm.Â
Organizer Amy Loucks started raising awareness after her husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer in June of 2018. She says he fought through many long surgeries.
Half of the dollars will go to the Loucks family and the rest will go to bladder cancer research.
Donations are currently being accepted. You can get involved by emailing Loucks at [email protected]
The poster for the event reads: ‘When it rains, look for rainbows. When it’s dark, look for stars.’
Loucks says that it reminds her that you never know what to expect, and her family’s situation is an example of how to stay positive.
