A 44-year-old man is facing charges after speeding down the 401. On Sunday, police were conducting radar enforcement near Merwin Lane. Around 9:45pm a vehicle was clocked at well over the speed limit.
Officers stopped the vehicle just before Cardinal, after it had reached a speed of 171 kilometres per hour. The driver, from Quebec, was issued a summons to appear in court at a later date. His vehicle was impounded for seven days and he was charged with stunt driving.
