Augusta Township Accepting New Members for Youth Advisory Committee

Youths can have their say in Augusta Township.

The township is accepting new members on its Youth Advisory Committee. Youths between the ages of 12 and 17 can join. Members must be an Augusta Township resident.

Community Development and Planning Coordinator Nicole Walker says it is an opportunity for students to gain local knowledge of the municipal government. The committee currently has eight members. Walker adds they each have certain positions and plan local events and initiatives. She says she would like to teach youths how to raise money and organize themselves.

The committee meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Township Office at 3560 County Road 26.

To apply for the committee visit the township’s website here or contact Walker at 613-925-4231 extension 110.
