Virtual reality technology being used to help job seekers

The Employment and Education Centre (EEC) launched a new way way to explore career opportunities. CareerLabsVR, a state-of-the-art system, allows people to experience high demand jobs. It’s a career-based simulation tool.

Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark stopped by the EEC for a demonstration.

“I’m proud that we have leading-edge tools like the virtual reality simulator available locally to help connect people with an exciting and rewarding career in the skilled trades,” says Clark.

EEC Executive Director Sue Watts says as demand for skilled workers increases, so does the need to provide practical, comprehensive skill-based training for job seekers. She says CareerLabsVR provides a unique solution towards connecting the right worker with the right job.
