Prescott to Receive $150,000 Grant for Splash Pad

Mayor Brett Todd announced Prescott will receive a $150,000 Trillium Grant for a splash pad.

Mayor Todd says this means the splash pad will be constructed this year and is a culmination of around a decade of planning. The Town has set aside $125,000 already for it. A Splash Pad Committee has raised over $5,000 for the project.

Councillor and Committee Member Leanne Burton says she is very excited and the next step is to continue fundraising. She adds it costs approximately $350,000 to build a splash pad. The committee is now working on a spring container class with Green Things.

Burton says a location for the splash pad is not set in stone yet but Centennial Park is an ideal spot. She adds she believes this a huge asset to the community and committee.
