Nutritious meals to be delivered through new Crock-pot program

The House of Lazarus (HOL) is launching a new program. Crock-pot Cuisine starts on February 1. A total of 40 brand new Crock-pots will be handed out to food bank clients at no cost. The HOL will also provide a recipe and the ingredients to make it once a month.

Money to buy the Crock-pots came from the North Grenville Community Fund. Giant Tiger in Kemptville provided a discount.

Executive Director Cathy Ashby says the program is one of the ways the HOL can ensure people who need food are getting it.

Crock-pot Cuisine will target seniors, families and individuals who use the food bank every month.

Client Services Manager Kim Merkley says the program will help by providing extra food for clients and the information they need to prepare nutritious meals.

The HOL serves people from North Grenville, South Grenville, North Dundas, South Dundas and South Ottawa. For more details about the organization, click here
