Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) and the Brockville Library are working together to provide a space for youth to hang out.
The new drop-in program runs every Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00pm and is open to youth in grades seven and up.
BBBS started seeing youth dropping into its offices this fall. Program Coordinator Stephanie Steed says there was a need for the drop-in space, and the library across the street seemed like the perfect solution.
Steed says the program includes unstructured fun, with games and activities available. Snacks are also provided.
The first drop-in was held last week. A total of six youth took part and stuck around for the full three hours.
Steed says the library has a lot of cool equipment, like the Nintendo Switch and a virtual reality headset.
BBBS hopes to grow the program every week and are encouraging people to spread the word.
