Brockville transit gets $225,201 from province

The City of Brockville is getting a financial boost. The province is granting the city $225,201 in gas tax funding for its municipal bus service.

Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark made the announcement yesterday. He says the investment in public transit will help ensure all city residents have the ability to get to work, go shopping or attend appointments.

Brockville Mayor Jason Baker says the dollars allow the city to focus on improving the transit system and making it more accessible.

Clark says having a local bus system is vital to connecting Brockville residents to their community.
