Local cat rescue holding adoption event

The Spencerville and Area TNR Stray Cats Project is seeking homes for kittens and cats. The local rescue is hosting an adoption event on Saturday. The event runs from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the Gloucester Pet Valu. Between six and eight cats will be on site.

Founder Cindy Cere says the rescue has about 30 cats and kittens available for adoption. She says some of the cats are too young or shy to be adopted out right now. Others are on medication.

Cere says the rescue is caring for one cat that has a really bad ear infection and when he was found, his ear was almost falling off because he was scratching it so much.

About half the cats at the rescue are between four and eight months old. The other 50 per cent are between one and three years old.

Cere says the rescue is always in need of donations. Currently, the rescue is out of kitten food.
