OPP are investigating 12 stunt drivers in Leeds County.
Police say drivers were stopped while doing speeds from 57 to 100 kilometers over the speed limit on Highway 401 and 15. OPP say the incidents occurred during the Christmas season.
Leeds County Detachment Commander Inspector Mike Francis is reminding drivers that speed limits are in place for a reason.
“The limit is set at the maximum safe speed to travel on a particular stretch of road. The faster you are travelling, the less time you have to react to the unexpected.”
OPP says the vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days. The drivers are scheduled to appear at Court in Brockville at later dates to answer to their charges.
