Town looking for people who dumped garbage at Salvation Army

The Town of Prescott is asking the public to help identify the person(s) responsible for dumping garbage at the Salvation Army. The incident happened sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Manager of Building and Bylaw Services Shawn Merriman says people can’t drop stuff off outside of business hours. He says the garbage included old vacuums, office chairs, couches and even bags labelled garbage.

Town staff helped out with the clean-up on Monday, filling two trucks with garbage. Dumping fees, totalling in the hundreds, were covered by the Town.

Merriman says its an active investigation and the culprit(s) will face heavy fines if found.

If anyone has information about the incident, contact the Town by calling 613-925-2812 ext. 6205 or 6206.
