Alibi Restaurant donates $1,645 to Connect Youth

Connect Youth got a boost from a local business. The Alibi Restaurant donated $1,645 towards the organization’s homelessness initiative. The Iroquois Matilda Lions also contributed to the cause, with a donation of $100. The cheque presentation was held last week.

Program Manager Victoria Robertson says the money will be used to help homeless youth in Leeds and Grenville. She says the organization is looking at providing food and a Christmas meal to homeless youth in the area.

The money was raised through paint night events at the restaurant. The donation may also be used to buy winter boots and coats for youth.

Robertson says if people are looking for ways to help out homeless youth, gift cards are always appreciated during the holiday season. She says food is always needed but it’s difficult to just hand out non-perishable items.
