STEO reminds people to prepare for snow days

Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO) is reminding people that snow days are on the way. STEO aims to have bus cancellations sent out around 6:00am.

General Manager/CAO Janet Murray says just be prepared because they are forthcoming. She says because of the large region of service that STEO provides bussing to, every area gets hit differently.

There has been one snow day so far this year.

Murray says the Bus Planner App is something parents, caregivers and students can download for free.

You can also find out about bus cancellations by visiting steo.ca or through social media. STEO gets up-to-date information about weather from MeteoGroup, which is a global weather advisor. Radar is reviewed by the STEO weather team at 9:00pm the night before and again at 4:00am.

Most schools remain open during snow days.
