If you drive a commercial vehicle, it’s very important to make sure it’s in good working order. The OPP Highway Safety Division and Ministry of Transportation recently conducted a check of 240 commercial vehicles on the 401.
Six of those vehicles were taken off the road for repairs to brakes, suspension and wheels. Officers also gave out tickets to drivers for seatbelt, load security, oversized vehicles and improper inspection violations.
OPP Eastern Region Traffic & Marine Manager Paul Bedard says safety on the roads involving commercial vehicles is paramount. Continued joint enforcement will continue to reduce and deter traffic-related incidents.
