Christmas Elves Giving Gifts in Prescott

Prescott’s 12 Days of Christmas is underway right now.

The Town of Prescott and the Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA) have teamed up and have elves going all over town. Prescott Economic Development Officer Dana Valentyne says the elves hand out gift certificates to random people who are shopping in local stores or restaurants in town.

“So we’ve got over 60 gift cards we will be distributing over the next couple of weeks. They’re all $50 denominations aside from a few that are 25, but they’re pretty significant so you can go out and get yourself a few holiday presents or maybe buy yourself something.”

This will be happening until December 15.

Another part of the 12 Days of Christmas is Santa will be visiting stores around the town on December 14. Valentyne says her and BIA Coordinator Deron Johnston will be at the clock tower from five to eight that evening serving hot chocolate and treats donated from TD Bank.

On December 15 there will be free horse drawn wagon rides from 11 to three that day. Johnston says the route starts at the clock tower and ends at the clock tower as well. He adds there will also be hot chocolate and treats at the clock tower.
