Conservative Party Leader Andrew Scheer to visit riding

Another federal party leader is coming to the riding. Conservative Party of Canada Leader Andrew Scheer is set to visit Grahame’s Bakery in Kemptville on Friday morning.

Scheer has been the party’s leader since May. He was first elected to office in 2004, as MP of Regina-Qu’Appelle. In 2011, Scheer was elected the Speaker of the House of Commons.

He is coming the area to support Michael Barrett’s bid for the MP seat in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes. The federal by-election is set for December 3.

The other candidates are Michelle Taylor (NDP), Lorraine Rekmans (Green) and Mary Jean McFall (Liberal).
