MPP Clark hosts MPP Harris on the #TreatRareDisease tour in Brockville

The #TreatRareDisease tour came to Brockville yesterday, led by Kitchener-Conestoga MPP Michael Harris. Harris has launched a province-wide campaign and private members motion calling on the government to strike a Select Committee into rare disease treatment in Ontario. His host in Brockville, Leeds Grenville MPP and Deputy Leader of the Opposition Steve Clark, says he felt it was important to go to the people who are suffering from rare diseases, to get their comments and perspective on the situation.

MPP Harris says it isn’t right that people suffering with a rare disease would have to leave the province or pay for expensive medication out of their own pockets. He is asking for a Select Committee to be formed to collect expert information and make the required changes to the system so that everyone in Ontario can have a better quality of life.

MPP Harris will continue his #TreatRareDisease tour throughout Ontario in the coming weeks, leading to the debate in the legislature on February 25th.
