A new strategic plan is in place for the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit. The plan is guided by the Ontario Public Health Standards, population health data and research evidence.
The Health Unit says it will continue working with partners on common areas of focus. These include health equity, healthy infants and children, healthy youth, healthy communities and infectious diseases.
As stated by the World Health Organization in the Ottawa Charter on Health Promotion: ‘health is a resource for living – the ability to identify and realize aspirations, satisfy needs and cope with the changing environment.’
