The Leeds and Grenville OSPCA has a tasty way to raise money to help cover 80 spays.
The centre is holding an event called Around the World in 80 Spays. It will be happening next Thursday, November 15th at the Brockville Convention Centre. The food tasting and silent auction will begin at 5:30 that evening.
The centre’s Manager Marianne Carlyle explains 80 spay surgeries cost approximately $14,000. Carlyle says attendees can expect a wide variety of food to enjoy with themes from around the world.
“Like tandoori chicken we’ve got, (for) Canada we’ve got mini cheese burgers. You know the really unique shows to the country. Like Ireland, we’ve got traditional Irish shepherd’s pie, that sort of thing.”
Carlyle says for the auction they have items from boutique merchants from the Prescott, Brockville, Merrickville and Westport area. They will also have gift certificates for local businesses up for grabs too.
Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the centre on 800 Centennial Road in Brockville. A tax receipt for a portion of the price will be given when a ticket is purchased. For more details about the centre, visit their website here.
