A fundraiser is set up to help support a local teen fighting cancer.
The fundraiser is set for Saturday, November 10th at the Johnstown Community Centre, for Ethan Tucker. Tucker is a 13-year old from Brockville. He is currently in the hospital. Yvette Perrin is one of the Organizers of the event and says she’s spoken with Tucker’s mom who says the cancer is because of a tumor called Medulloblastoma. Perrin explains Tucker is fighting hard.
“He’s had several surgeries to remove as much of the tumor as they could and he was out for a bit, at home this summer, but he’s currently back, readmitted to CHEO now.”
Perrin adds she worked at the hospital where Tucker’s mom works and decided to do this fundraiser for the family.
“There’s also going to be a silent auction there and all of the proceeds from the silent auction will be going to the Tucker family.”
The event will be from nine to three that day. The fundraiser is free to attend and will feature vendors as well. There are currently 20 vendors confirmed for the event.
