Municipal Election Voting Period Opens Monday In Prescott

You can cast your Municipal Election vote for Prescott beginning Monday.

This year, people can vote electronically and by paper ballot again. Kimberley Casselman is the Director of Administration/Clerk for the Town of Prescott and says voting can be done on the phone or online from 10 in the morning this Monday until eight in the evening on October 22nd. Voters will need their Voter Information Letter with the 16 digit PIN in order to vote.

Casselman says currently there are 3,134 eligible electors in the town. In 2014, there were 3,130 eligible electors, with 1,734 of them voting. Out of the 1,734 voters in 2014, 64-percent voted electronically. Casselman adds the town does suggest people give electronic voting a try as it is easy to use and accessible.

Paper ballots can be cast at Town Hall on Election Day, October 22nd, from 10 that morning to eight at night. Casselman says they will be visiting Wellington House and Mayfield Retirement Residence on Election Day so presidents there can cast their vote.

Tomorrow is the final Saturday where people can come into Town Hall between 10 and two to make sure they’re on the voters list and have the Voter Information Letter.
